Did I ever tell you about the sheep?

When I was in Porter during Mother's Day weekend we were all driving back from my grandma's house and we looked over and saw some sheep. Wait, not just some, like a ton of sheep.
Like more sheep than I have ever seen in my life. And I've been to Ireland. So I, an avid sheep enthusiast pulled the car over to get  a better look. I couldn't believe how any there were!
So I climbed up on the side of my Jeep to get a better look. This picture in no way shows how many there were. There were at least 300 sheep out there!
We went home and came back with my camera. While we were home my dad told me about the sheep dogs guarding the field.  Sure, they look sweet, but underneath that sweet furry exterior is a sheep protecting monster!

So I started toward the fence to get a better shot of the sheep. Marcy by the way, was supposed to be standing guard to tell me if the dog was coming and got distracted by some of the other sheep who happened to be feeling romantic at that point. Needless to say, the dog started charging me and I took off to the car, scared to death! When he saw us there he started trying to pick up this little lamb and carry it out of harms (me and my sister) way. So, we took off. Thanks for having my back, Mar.

And that is my sheep tale.

Double bath time

Bath time is so much easier now that the girls can take one together and Violet is good at sitting up by herself. They get so excited when the water is running!

And I love it because it means it's bedtime!

Thing I'm Excited About

1: Morgandi is moving back to Oklahoma! Yay! I know what you're thinking, she's way too pretty to be friends with. I agree, but she's so darn nice that I can't help it.
2: A fun photography day with Melinda at her house in the 'burbs this weekend. We are both doing photography and are getting together to have fun taking pics of each other's kids and take photos of everything else we see!

3: Going on vacation with this guy. Not that we have one planned or anything, it's just wishful thinking! But I am thinking something beachy...can't you just hear the waves?
4: Meeting baby Cora. This of course is not Cora, it's Aidan, but I figure that she'll look pretty much look just like this! It could be any day now.
5: I didn't know what else to write, so I'll just say this chocolate cake from Inspirations!

Dara's Baby Shower pics

Yesterday we had Dara's baby shower and it was a lot of fun! It was similar to girls night, only we had fun brunch food and we were dressed up. And we weren't watching the Bachelor. So much fun!
Aubrie Ross made these and was in charge of the adorable decor. She does such a good job!

Olivia was kind enough to host the shower at her lovely home!
Carol made the punch and it was so good that at one point Riz and I discussed grabbing a couple of huge bendy straws and sitting the punch bowl in our laps.
Here's a shot of how the table looked.
Getting ready before the shower started!
Riz brought the pigs in a blanket and two of them had no pigs in them. I of course got one of the pigless ones. Darn you Riz!
Olivia made the yummy mini muffins!
I brought the breakfast casserole.
Crislyn brought the gorgeous fruit tray!

This is the quilt that I made for Dara. I did this one all by myself!

And one of us!
Here's a pic of Dara with all of the hostesses.
Thanks to everyone who helped and who came to make Dara's baby shower special!

He's Home!

What a great end to Mother's Day weekend! Thanks for all your prayers for my brother and family while he's been away. He will only be here for a couple of weeks, but we're glad he's home safe now!

Fun outside

Yesterday I kept Addi while Amy and Richard went to a movie for Amy's birthday. We spent most of the time outside. The girls had a blast in our new mulch area. I don't know what to call it but it's better than our "covering up the fact that we had no grass in this spot" area. Anyway, it kept them entertained!
The love each other!
The picked up the mulch and Viv decided to dump it all over her head. I'm almost sure that it's permanently embedded into her scalp!
But she has started to look at the camera again when I ask her to which is nice! It's been a while people!
And drum roll please.... she even smiled and looked at the same time! I never thought I'd see the day!
I tried to get a good one of all the girls, but this was as good as it got.
Viv giving Violet her special headlock hug, which always results in Violet crying.
Cutie pie Vi and her massive head of hair!
And most importantly, Addi did a little yard work. So people if you want to drop your kids off for the afternoon, they'll have to earn their keep!
Also, if you want to enter this week's photo contest go to my photo blog, the theme is moms and there is an actual prize this time!
