The haps

Here's what has been happening here at the house. Photo editing, milk buying, sippy cup and bottle washing, a lot and I mean a lot of diaper changing, various conversations concerning the big girl potty and it's positive qualities, stressing out over getting both the girls to sleep in the same room, oh yeah and editing wedding pics, baby pics and family pics! So, here are some pics of our family from our last trip to the zoo!
But first, I'll show you the pic I took of Violet for her birthday announcements. No smiles out of this girl!
Me and Viv took a ride on the metal elephant since our OKC elephants have been gone to Tulsa Viv's entire life.

There were some really beautiful flowers around this time!

We spent a lot of time in the children's zoo and I put the girls in their swimsuits so they could go for it! Violet loves the water!

And so does Viv, she had a great time in the little stream of water and rocks.

We went to the petting zoo and let the girls pet some goats.

Vi splashed around in the water and had so much fun!
I think they would have stayed there all day long if we hadn't moved them along eventually!
She's so cute!

The butterfly area was finally open again! I got so many good pics of the gorgeous butterflies!

Cupcakes!

Last week Vivian kept asking for a cupcakes, and I was like, dude, we don't have any, get over it! So finally I took her to Cupcakes to Go Go for a cupcake. She picked out a delicous chocolate one and totally loved it! I also got one for Matt and I. After spending about $9 on 3 cupcakes, I went ahead and just made some at home with my 88 cent cake mix. I decided to make rainbow cupcakes because I saw them on Bakerella or somewhere and they looked so cute!

These pics of Vi dont really have anything to do with cupcakes, they're just cute!
I love this girl! Okay, on to the cupcakes!

Mmmmmm! Yummy sprinkles on top!
And adorable rainbow in the middle. You just use a regular white cake mix and divide the icing up into separate bowls and use food coloring.
I used different combinations for the cupcakes so they didn't all have the same colors.
Vivian was thrilled and kept wiping her mouth and icing all across her face!
Maybe we'll do cupcakes this year for her birthday instead of a cake. I'm a major traditionist so I always have to have a regular cake rather than cupcakes for my birthday! Oh, and my favorite cake flavors are lemon and strawberry. You can come over now with the cake you're making for me!
Have a yummy day!

My beadboard obsession

I've been obsessing about putting beadboard somewhere in my house, but beadboard can get expensive, so I looked for other options. Thankfully, I found this blog which used beadboard wallpaper, for way less money and the same look as the real thing! Here's my before dining room:

Here's my before cabinets:

And here's my wondeful hubs doing all the detail work, which I'm not that good at. He also cut the chair rail perfectly. It's not even nailed to the wall in that picture, it fit so perfectly that it just stayed there by itself!

After the wallpaper was applied, he put the chair rail up and nail it in tight!
Doesn't it look awesome??
Here's how the cabinets turned out. I think it makes such a difference!

We had some leftover paper, so we covered the side of our bookshelves in the living room also.
Here's the after of the dining room.
Yay for home projects! This one has been in my mind for several months and I can't belive it's actually done!

Pool Season!

If you know me very well, you'll know that I love summer and pools and most of the time, I even love the heat! I know, I'm probably crazy for that last part, but that's just how it is! Anyway, the other day we got to go to Amy and Richard's neighborhood pool to swim.
Despite the look on Viv's face, she actually had a great time. She really loves the pool!

This little munchkin loves the water too!

Don't be blinded by my really white family!

It wasViolet's first time in a swimming pool and she loved it! You never know what babies are going to think but I was pleasantly surprised!
She was so happy that she just laid her head down on the raft and enjoyed herself!

Then she enjoyed a bottle afterwards.
Addi had fun climbing up and down the stairs.
Then she kicked back with me and Violet and relaxed for a while.
Then we ordered pizza poolside and had dinner together. Fun times at the pool!

The bangs

Remember back in third grade, the day before your school pictures? Your mom thought it would be a good idea if she trimmed your bangs a little before you left for school? You didn't know any better, you were just a kid. What's worse is that you didn't even realize that they were all crooked, and like an inch above your eyebrows. Well, I'm 31 now and I totally realize it. Believe me. I realized it in the salon and tried to hide the shocked face that I felt coming on when I saw what the stylist had done to me. This:
Now I know it's just hair and it will grow, but can it please grow a little bit faster?? This happened at a salon I had never been to and went to on a whim one day when I got last minute babysitting. She did do a good job on the rest of the hair but got a little scissor happy when it came to the bang area. Oh well, I guess I can wear hats for the next couple of weeks.

Did I ever tell you about the sheep?

When I was in Porter during Mother's Day weekend we were all driving back from my grandma's house and we looked over and saw some sheep. Wait, not just some, like a ton of sheep.
Like more sheep than I have ever seen in my life. And I've been to Ireland. So I, an avid sheep enthusiast pulled the car over to get  a better look. I couldn't believe how any there were!
So I climbed up on the side of my Jeep to get a better look. This picture in no way shows how many there were. There were at least 300 sheep out there!
We went home and came back with my camera. While we were home my dad told me about the sheep dogs guarding the field.  Sure, they look sweet, but underneath that sweet furry exterior is a sheep protecting monster!

So I started toward the fence to get a better shot of the sheep. Marcy by the way, was supposed to be standing guard to tell me if the dog was coming and got distracted by some of the other sheep who happened to be feeling romantic at that point. Needless to say, the dog started charging me and I took off to the car, scared to death! When he saw us there he started trying to pick up this little lamb and carry it out of harms (me and my sister) way. So, we took off. Thanks for having my back, Mar.

And that is my sheep tale.

Double bath time

Bath time is so much easier now that the girls can take one together and Violet is good at sitting up by herself. They get so excited when the water is running!

And I love it because it means it's bedtime!
