Violet's Top 2 list

The top two things that I hear from people when they see Vi is number one: "Wow! Look at all that hair!" It's what every person says. I'm running out of things to say back to that, so I usually just nod or say something about it being a baby wig. Anyway, the next thing, number two: "Wow! Look at how alert she is!" Now people have said this about both my girls so I'm not really sure what other babies do all day. Mine mostly look like this: Sometimes they sleep but mostly their eyes are as wide as they can get and they are pretty much holding their heads up on their own before the umbilical cord is cut. I guess it's good to be alert, except for when it's 3 am and I'm sitting in the living room watching reruns of Grey's Anatomy while my half of our warm comfy bed goes unoccupied. Anyway, Violet is really getting such a fun personality already. Matt thinks she said hi to him this morning, but I'm not so sure. She is starting to make lots of noises though and it's really cute. Her main thing right now is that she smiles all day! She's the sweetest baby!

Projects

So I've painted almost every room in our house at least once, and one room 3 times already! I said I was done painting but for some stupid reason I decided to paint the hall, the only place that hadn't been touched! What I didn't think about was the insane amount of trim, baseboards and not to mention the 4 doors that I had to prime and then paint. Here's the before: Here's the after. It took a while, but I'm really happy with how it turned out! I love the color and I really love painted woodwork even if it's a big hassle. Here's the cowgirl costume I've been sewing for Viv. I need to find a shirt to go with it and then I'm going to do a few last minute touch ups and I will be done. She so far hates when I put the vest on her and squirms around yelling NOOOOO! Makes me feel really good. Now I need to find the boots I saw at Target and didn't buy for some reason. Now of course I can't find the right size. I knew this would happen! What's a cowgirl without boots??

Just Viv

This is Viv's really happy face, and it cracks me up every time! She squeezes her eyes shut as tight as she can and looks hilarious! She has actually started looking at the camera again when I take her picture which makes me a happy momma and photographer! She looks so grown up here!

I love the look on her face in this one, it's her "I'm up to something" face!
I went around the corner of our house the other day and found that the entire side of the house was filled with the purple flowers, they were gorgeous! Viv went exploring because there's nothing she likes better than being outside. That's my kind of girl!
I love this one, snotty nose and all!

Parkhurst Pumpkin Patch

The other day I took off for the pumpkin patch with the Walkers and we had so much fun! Violet's first experience with the pumpkins was a success. She insisted on laying down in the middle of them for a photo shoot. Viv climbed into a little wagon and had the best time. She wouldn't get out of it however. It was kind of like today at the doctor's office when we were leaving and Vivian wouldn't put the books back in the basket and then proceeded to throw a fit and roll around all over the floor. It wasn't embarassing at all.

She was most excited about seeeing the animals of course, it was all that she talked about in the car on the way there. She loved the bunny and was really excited to pet him.

Viv loves holding baby sissy and she does a pretty good job, I'm always right there of course! The girls had a lot of fun on the hayride and weren't scared or anything.
Me and the fabulous Amy.
Just the Stansberry girls!

Growing Girl!

Violet went for her two month check up yesterday and weighed 10 lbs 8 ounces and she's 24 inches long. Her weight is in the 50th% and her height is in the 95th%! Looks like my girls are going to outgrow me in two to three years! At least their jeans won't get all wet on the bottom when it rains outside like mine do! Dr. Crittenden said she looks perfect and is doing well. She did have to get three different shots and it was so sad! She slept a lot yesterday and when she was awake she smiled a lot too. She's getting so much personality already!

Flashback Friday

September’s theme: “Dear Old Golden Rule Days” – post any type of school photo, whether posed or candid.

Since last week was my ode to DJ Tanner, with the big hair and whatnot, I figured I would post some earlier pictures before I had had a perming experience. I think this is my first day of kindergarten. The old front of the fireplace school picture! Look how proud I am, ready to learn, ready to make new friends, ready for recess mostly. I'm pretty sure my sister Marcy had the same outfit in purple.

Not sure about grades here but maybe it's first grade. I definitely look smarter, like I'd already had a year of school under my belt!I don't what grade this is either but I do know that I was in the stride of my awkward stage. And that I had probably slept in my pink sponge rollers that night. To post your own embarassing pictures and to see some of Melinda's forest green stage, head over to Melinda's blog: http://thebrookshirefam.blogspot.com/.

Family!

My family came to Edmond a couple of weekends ago to celebrate my mom's birthday and I keep forgetting to post the pics! Here's my adorable mom with her ice cream birthday cake, which was delicious by the way! We spent a lot of time in our back yard hanging out.

My sister Marcy spent a lot of time getting to know Violet better. I think she's in love!

Violet just enjoyed being held all weekend by everyone!

My neice Lily got a turn holding Violet and didn't want to let her go!

Good times in the back yard. Mom opened her presents and got a swiffer wet jet and a food processor. Hey, it's what she wanted!

My oldest neice Addi with Viv. Viv absolutely loves when her cousins are there to play and is exhausted by the time they leave.

Uncle Lee getting to know Violet. This was the first time he'd seen her.

Mom and Viv having fun on the couch.
Hope you had a great birthday mom! Love ya!

Flashback Friday

September’s theme: “Dear Old Golden Rule Days” – post any type of school photo, whether posed or candid.

Since Melinda loves for us to post embarrassing pictures of ourselves and I have a never ending plethora of them, here you go! I've decided to post a couple of pics from my "I want to look just like DJ Tanner days." Don't even judge, you know she was the coolest! Now I'm not even sure what years these are but I know that this one comes first just by looking at my eyebrows. I'm thinking this is probably like 8th or 9th grade. Looks like I was loving the black eyeliner that year!Looks like I had gotten a hold of the brows by then but had decided on the extra curly spiral perm and curled under bangs! I am pretty sure that this one is 10th grade. Oh what I'm wearing is a floor length plaid overall dress with black mary janes. To join in head over to Melinda's blog.

Another Zoo Day!

Since Amy has zoo passes we go all the time, and since the weather was so gorgeous yesterday, we decided to head on over. It's so much easier to walk around the zoo when you're not pregnant, but pushing that enormous double stroller isn't easy either! We have a tradition with the girls when we got to the zoo. They get their pictures taken on this lion each time we go. Here is the picture we took two zoo trips ago.
And one trip ago...
And this time! I can't believe how fast they grow up, the look like little girls now rather than babies! The girls are always so good at the zoo and this time especially because neither of them had their nap.

The tiger was right up next to the glass this time and was so cool to see, we could hear him roaring really loudly and it about scared me to death!
The bears are always by the glass and so much fun to watch! This is Viv doing her bear sound and impression. Pretty ferocious if you ask me!

And the mommas having a great time. I think we have a better time than the girls do!
